1.First of all, you need to pick a niche which is the main category/industry your videos will be about e.g. marketing, fitness, money online, yoga! After you have chosen the main category itis suggested that you select 3-4 topics that you will focus within this niche! For example, I focus on marketing theories, YouTube success and social media growth! This is really important because you need to have videos with similar topics to attract the right audience and gain subscribers! Moreover, by selecting some topics and not only, you can find out from analytics what people like and you can create more videos to the successful topics!
2. Next, you need to decide what type of videos you will upload and how often! You need to decide the format of the videos.
3. Will you show your face? will it be a presentation? will it be kind of vlog? etc.! For instance, as you see I make presentations combined with videos and I do not show my face on camera! Then you should choose your upload rate! You should upload at least once per week but if you want to grow as fast as possible you need to upload 2-4 or even 5 videos per week! This may be hard I know, but you need to be very active on the platform, especially if you seek for quick results! Time for brainstorming! Think about several video Ideas! This is a significant step!
4.You need to find video ideas and see if you have things to say! You should have about 50-100 ideas so that you are comfortable to start a channel and make sure you will not get stuck! You can watch this video in the info cards over about coming up with video ideas on YouTube! Carefully select your topics! Find out what people want to know in your niche and try to answer questions and provide real value! Now that you have selected you niche and your ideas, you need to get the necessary equipment, so you start filming.
5.You will need a camera or depending on whether you will show your face or not, you may just need a screen recording software. You can start with your mobile camera and have a free screen recording software when you start! See if YouTube fits you and then make bigger investments on the equipment! Audio is also very important for your channel’ success –
I have bought a microphone because I don’t show my face and audio needs tobe perfect to keep my audience interested! In general, audio is essential, so make sure you are clearly heard!
Lighting is also a basic part of success! I don’t care about this because I am only doing screen-recording presentations accompanied by videos! So, the time has come to prepare that first video and film it! Do not spend a lot of time on it! It will not be perfect! Just film it and you will probably need to edit a lot.
7. Editing is the next step - there are several free tools you can use to edit your videos.
8.After you have finished editing, it is time to upload your video and optimize it for the search, a necessary step for your channel’s growth! It is time to prepare the title, tags, description and thumbnail! And that’s it you uploaded your first video and you are ready to move on! Good luck! These are the basic steps to start your YouTube channel from scratch.
9. Let’s move on with some very important tips to grow on YouTube from 0 subscribers! Firstly, optimize your channel! Write a nice about section (the description for your channel) full of keywords that represent the topics you have chosen and add the channel’s keywords on settings – This will help the algorithm understand what your channel is about and your niche! Another useful tip I have for you is to create searchable content! You need to have content that people search about and not content that you think will be interesting! Use answerthepublic.com , google trends, readnews about your industry and rank competitors’ videos by popularity and see which topics are the most popular! Then do your take on these videos! Search engine optimization is so vital for success! Keep in mind that YouTube is the second biggest arch engine after Google, so you can understand how important it is to optimize your videos to rank them higher so more people find them and you get more subscribers! Optimization has to do with the title, tags, description, and thumbnails! I have prepared this video on the i-card above where I analyse how you can get your rank videos higher! You should also promote your videos because when you are a new Youtuber it is difficult for people to find out about you on the platform. So, start with promoting your channel to friends and family and ask them to subscribe! Moreover, send them your videos to like them and comment! Engagement within the first 48 hours is so important and will determine your video’s success, so ask them to actively engage! Promote your videos on your social media accounts and increase your views. This may be hard to do but it is important for your initial growth so overcome your scepticism and do it! In addition,
10. I suggest you create professional social media accounts to promote your videos! According to your target audience you can make a business profile on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tik Tok and so on, that will be dedicated to your channel. Select 1-2 of those, no more because otherwise you will probably get overwhelmed – This video above on the info card will show you the best places to promote you YouTube videos for free!
11. My next tip is to engage on the platform! Subscribe to big Youtubers in your niche, turn on the notification bell and try to be the first who provides a valuable commento their videos! Do not be spammy! Try to provide real value, give a nice thoughtful comment, answer questions on the comments and generally be a person who tries to help! This is the best organic growth technique! Furthermore, comment on small youtubers as well, Comments them e.g. -
about their style and subscribe to some of their channels that you like and are really interested in! If your subscriptions are public, they will see that your channel subscribed to them and if you made a nice, non-spammy comment on their video, they will probably subscribe back for support! But always keep in mind that you want subscribers that are interested in your topics, so wisely choose the channels you subscribe to! Consistency is also a key factor for success!
12. Try to stick to a schedule! E.g. 2 times per week and upload on specific days, even hours. OK if you say you will publish at 6pm and one time you do it at 8pm this will not harm your consistency. But the days are suggested to be fixed Event time, because loyal subscribers will know when to expect something new from you! Do not get discouraged! Continue posting even if you see that the views are not as you expected!
13. You need to be patient because it takes time for the algorithm to notice you as a new youtuber! Valuable content is the king! Your content should be helpful, quick, not boring, so you keep your audience and they do not stop watching! This will help you with the algorithm! So, provide value, solve problems and have a nice unique style as much as possible!
14. My final suggestion is to stay adaptive and flexible! Watch your analytics to get an idea about what works and what not! See the topics that get the most views, check your click through rates to see if your titles and thumbnails are ok! What is your average watch time? What can you do to improve it? Also, listen to the feedback of your audience and make adjustments when necessary! Analytics can help you focus on those topics that will make your channel successful very soon! Before finishing my video, I want to tell you this! Fight for your dreams! Do not give up! If you want to start on YouTube do it! Follow your dream and wait for some time! Success will not happen overnight! This happens in every business! Years must usually pass to start earning money! YouTube is also like this and the good thingis it does not require money investment! It will take many months even years to makeit happen and start earning money! You need to take it seriously and you will make it!
See you next time!
